DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION OF

FAITHFUL LUTHERAN CATECHESIS

FAITH IN CHRIST
THE GOAL OF CATECHESIS

To be a Christian is to have faith in Christ that trusts in Him for the forgiveness of sins. Faith gives the certainty of salvation and is the victory that overcomes the devil, the world, and our own sin. Out of faith in Christ, we learn to serve our neighbor in love.

LUTHERAN CATECHESIS

The Lutheran Catechesis Series provides material for establishing a culture of catechesis and prayer in the Lutheran home, congregation, and school, including daily prayer resources and catechesis classes for children, youth, and adults.

A CHANGE OF THINKING

Faithful catechesis involves doing those things that Christians will continue to do for the rest of their lives—receiving Christ’s gifts in the Divine Service, prayer, confessing sin, forgiving others, and living faithful lives in service to the neighbor.

CONGREGATION AT PRAYER

Central to the task of catechesis, this devotional guide organizes the life of the Lutheran parish around the Bible, Catechism, and Hymnal, providing daily readings, psalmody, catechism, and hymns to be learned by heart.

CREATING A CULTURE OF CATECHESIS

From the womb to the tomb, The Lutheran Catechesis Series broadens the understanding of catechesis to involve more than confirmation classes, but a lifetime of meditation upon God’s Word, learning by heart, and prayer.
